Sarah Palin: Good American Entertainment

Let’s give the self-proclaimed “hockey” mom, former governor of Alaska and Republican vice president hopeful for the 2008 Presidential election some credit for keeping the spotlight for so long. She’s currently a best selling author and a Fox News contributor. She’s so damn adorable with that wink! But to say that Sarah Palin is smart because the American people are interested in her is like saying Pamela Anderson made millions for the intelligent acting roles she took. Let’s be blunt. Pamela Anderson would not be what or who she is if she had never gotten those implants and set foot on the hot sands of the popular 1990s show Baywatch, and Sarah Palin wouldn’t be where she is if it weren’t for her basic likeability which has a lot to do simply with her looks; that adorable little tick, smile, wink, point, match – it’s always been about marketability, not brains.

In a study about physical attractiveness and intellectual competence, it is said that people who were perceived as more attractive were automatically seen as more competent even if they were not. Does this remind you of anyone? A particular brunette in a particular stylish pair of Kazuo Kawasaki 704 glasses known also as Sarah Palin glasses? It’s not to say she isn’t smart. She gets winning points for being ambitious and competitive. In her senior year in high school, as co-captain and point guard, her basketball team won the Alaska state championship, earning her the nickname ‘Sarah Barracuda’ – that’s great marketing right there! Let's say it together, "Sarah," "Barracuuu-Da!" She’s a wonderful little story about the little engine that could, or in this case, the little brunette that did and is still doing.

I will not be voting for the former Beauty Queen, who has insinuated a possible 2012 Presidential run. I can’t get over her embarrassing Palinisms that show me exactly her lack of competency no matter how funny they are. How she thinks Russia is just near yonder to Alaska, or how she contradicted herself on the platform of nationalized healthcare. I can’t hand my trust over to her and have absolutely no confidence in her as a Presidential candidate when multiple McCain/Palin aides during the 2008 election don’t trust her either. Quoting on her self-aggrandizing qualities, “She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone…Also she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom...” and another aide, “Her lack of fundamental understanding of some key issues was dramatic," a McCain source with direct knowledge in the process of preparing Palin for the election after she was picked. The source said it was probably the "hardest" to get her "up to speed than any candidate in history.” 

If this was her job resume for the President of the United States in 2012, I would read through, like the millions of people that bought her memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life, and driven-on by curiosity and entertainment, then upon finishing and finding absolutely no substance would have thrown the resume in the recycling bin.
